An Innovative Barber

Gentleman's Barbers of Hungerford was originally formed in 2015. The company was formally known as The Gentleman's Barber Shop which was founded here in Hungerford in 1988 and is now under new ownership.

We currently have a team of barbers, who pride themselves on having an excellent reputation both locally and further afield.

Diane Puffett

Diane is originally from Aldbourne but now lives in Marlborough and started hairdressing in 1984. Having worked in local salons, she was also a self-employed hairdresser before joining us in 2007.

Denise Sawyer

Denise has been a Barber for over 30 years. She started my career in Hungerford working for Robert Johnston then went on to work in A Barbershop in Newbury for 21 years & have worked in a Barbershop in Marlborough for 7 years before joining us in 2022. "I am very passionate about what I do & take a lot of pride in my work. I am a fun person to be around, sometimes I can talk a bit too much. I am very much looking forward to meeting lots of new faces & maybe some familiar ones too."

Claire lives just outside Newbury and is the proud mum to three wonderful children.
She came to barbering later in life, having previously worked in Retail and Education.
She loves both the creative and social sides of being a Barber.

Billy Franklin

Managing Director

Billy was born in Hungerford and lived in the town for over 50 years before moving to Newbury in 2023 with his wife. With over 30 years barbering experience, he started working in the family salon in Marlborough prior to joining The Gentleman's Shop in 1996.
He was Manager for 19 years before taking over the business in 2015.
